It will be interesting to see if audiences accept a more horror-flavored Resident Evil movie since the previous franchise sold itself as an action series. The games have since course-corrected, with the remake of Resident Evil 2 and other recent entries proving that a more old-fashioned survival horror approach can still work wonders.
